Eco-School

Congratulations to Freddie Sugarman (Y5), Tallulah Sheehan (Y6), Emily York (Y6), Will Chantler-McCrink (Y3), Jordan Millard (Y4), Tom Owen (Y3), Eva Sirous-Wilby (Y4) and Rebecca Smith (Y5) – our newly formed Eco-Committee.

Eco-committee members will be the driving force behind Riverside Junior School becoming an Eco-School. They will help to carry out an audit to assess our current environmental performance and in conjunction with the rest of the school and the wider community, the pupils will then decide the environmental themes they want to address and how they’re going to do it.

Undertaking the Eco-Schools programme is a long term journey and it will take time for us to implement the different elements of the international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, however, we think it’s a journey well worth taking!
