Vote for Riverside!!

Riverside School Needs Your Vote!

We have been shortlisted for a brand new award (Marks and Spencer Community Energy Fund) which will make our school building fit for the future. We are hoping to win up to £12,500 to buy solar panels with.  Funding will go only to groups who can show a high level of community support – as measured by votes received via the official M&S Energy Fund Website.

Voting for this project will bring 8,000 kwh of clean, free energy into the school every year. It will cut our carbon dioxide emissions by 4400 kilos a year. And it will provide the school with savings and an ongoing income. This will all support first class teaching facilities and offer the best possible educational experience to local children now and in the future.

Riverside School have until 30th September to gather support. We are asking everyone in the local community to get behind us and vote for Riverside School.

School pupil Ellie Tweed, Year 5 Pupil at Riverside puts it in simple terms:

“Solar panels turn daylight into electricity and will help teach us about climate change, please vote for our school.”

It’s free to cast a vote – you just have to go to the M&S Energy Fund website and submit your email address to create an account. The two minutes you spend on this could save this school £2,000 a year.
