How you can help!

Schools aren’t just about the curriculum and learning. They’re part of the community at large and offer events across the school year that excite the children, enrich life at Riverside, and also hopefully raise a few pennies and pounds to invest into the school.

We’re very fortunate to have a dedicated individual called Sue Millen in our school who runs FORS (Friends of Riverside School) our parent and teacher association but we’re always desperate to have more join the team. Why?

  • The more hands-on parents we have, the better the events we run can be

  • If you’re new to the school, this is a great way to meet other parents/families

  • Every single pound raised is put right back into the school and will directly benefit your children

Projects/events we funded

  • The sand pit in the playground

  • The rainbow furniture outside

  • Science Days

  • School trips including: Year 6 trip to Robin Hood’s Bay

  • Immersion Days, e.g. Roman Day; Ancient Greek Day

Events we hold across the year

  • Half termly bake sales for each class

  • Halloween Disco

  • Christmas Fairs

  • Sponsored Walks to Stoodley Pike

  • Personalised Christmas Cards

  • Summer BBQ

Want to join up?

There are many ways to get involved with FORS, but our core needs are people to help plan, organise and run the events and activities we put on. We always want to make our group stronger and work better, and get more parents, friends and family members involved.
